Varsity Coach: Bob Benson Bob Benson begins his seventh season as Skyview’s head basketball coach. Coach Benson added his second Greater St. Helens League title during the 2004 season. Skyview also claimed the District Championship with a 50-43 win over Prairie. The Storm bowed out of the regional tourney losing to eventual state champion Kentwood in overtime. Coach Benson’s previous title was in 1995, as he guided Hudson’s Bay to a 7^th place finish in the state tournament. Coach Benson has the most basketball wins in the history of Hudson’s Bay High School and Skyview High School. Assistant Varsity Coach: Jeff Teusink Coach Teusink returns for his seventh year with the Skyview basketball family. Jeff was born and raised in South Dakota. He played basketball at Westmar University in LeMars, Iowa. Jeff completed his teaching degree at the University of South Dakota. He teaches at Walnut Grove Elementary School. Junior Varsity Coach: Aaron Hazel Aaron Hazel begins his second season as the Skyview J.V. coach. Coach Hazel played football, basketball, and baseball at LaSalle H.S. in Portland, and continued his football experience at Eastern Oregon University in LaGrande, OR where he was a quarterback. Aaron also is a football and baseball coach at Skyview. He teaches math. Aaron and his wife Brooke are proud parents of 2 year old Emma. Freshman Coach: Matt Hamlin Coach Hamlin is in his fourth year with the Skyview Basketball program and his third year as our Freshman coach. Matt was a starter on his high school team in Walla Walla, WA, where they won the state basketball title his senior year. Matt is a graduate of Eastern Oregon University where he played football. He teaches math and coaches football at Skyview. Matt and his wife Stephanie are proud parents of 2 year old Kaden.
