Bonding & Molecular Geometry Millikan's Oil Drop Experiment - 3D computer animation, QuickTime movies, with audio narration, explain to you about the Millikan's oil drop experiment, which led to the determination of the charge of an electron. For the slower connection, you may want to download the compressed movie: for Mac, for Windows.

Bohr model: Learn about the Bohr model of atom with this interesting 3D computer animation, QuickTime, with audio narration. For the slower connection, you may want to download the compressed Bohr model movie

  Molecular Models Molecular Model Collection

Isomer Construction Set - Build all the isomers of octane, starting from propane.

Bohr model: Learn about the Bohr model of atom with this interesting 3D computer animation, QuickTime, with audio narration. For the slower connection, you may want to download the compressed Bohr model movie

3-D Virtual Chemistry Library (Imperial College)- A library of 150 molecules that you can display and manipulate in three dimensions using MDL's excellent Chime plugin. The molecules are sorted into six sections. 'Simple molecules' includes gases, alcohols, acids, fuels, fats, and soaps. The polymer section includes a variety of plastics, rubbers, acrylates (including the 'Super Glue' molecule) and natural polymer like keratins ( found in wool and silk). The 'horrible' molecules are poisonous or play a role in pollution and war. The 'interesting' molecules has a single entry at present (the somewhat overexposed buckministerfullerene). In the medical section, you'll find the remarkably similar male and female sex hormones testosterone and estradiol and the caffeine molecule (flat, with three methyl group propellors around its rim), among others. The senses section includes molecules that have distinctive tastes, smells, or colors.

FlavorNet (Terry Acree, Heinrich Arn, Cornell University) - What makes popcorn smell like popcorn? Get the answers at Cornell University's FlavorNet, a molecular structure database indexed by flavor. To view the structures as rotating 3D models, pick up the MDL Chime plugin.

  Gas Laws Boyle's law model.

Gas laws model: relationship between volume, pressure and temperature for a fixed mass of gas.

Pressure law model: the relationship between pressure and temperature for an ideal ags

Diffusion of gases: effect of temperature and molar mass.

Maxwell speed distribution: kinetic theory model

Maxwell speed distribution: effect of mass and temperature

Maxwell-Boltzman energy distribution: effect of temperature

Maxwell-Boltzman energy distribution: effect of temperature with variety of molecules

Maxwell-Boltzman energy distribution: on-screen sketch graph

Gas Law Calculator - This script solves the ideal gas, van der Waals, and Dieterici equations of state for pressure, volume, temperature, or moles in a variety of convenient units. Semiempirical parameters are computed from critical point data- a database of common gases is included in the script, but you can input your own critical point data if you wish. The Boyle temperature and the critical compressibility factor are computed for the semiempirical equations, as well
